An Assisting Young Mothers program staffer was invited to Pender Regift Thrift Store in early May. Pender Regift donated a large bag of summer clothing for the infants and toddlers in the AYM and HYI programs. This will really help as we welcome warmer weather!

Office Movers VolunteersA group from Office Movers Inc. took time out of their busy schedule to assist with cleaning and preparing one of our AYM II apartments for a resident to move into. The NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) Developing Leaders held a huge donation drive and brought us over 2,000 snack packs for our various programs - the biggest donation of snack packs to date!! We would like to thank Mr. Ed Clayborne and Clayborne Decorators Inc. who donated their time and materials to make improvements to one of our AYM Program townhouses. They replaced the front door, which badly needed replacing, and cleaned out the gutters. They worked with great attention to detail and demonstrated a commitment to the job they were doing. Thanks, Clayborne Decorators Inc., for thinking of us and working with us create a cleaner and more welcoming atmosphere for our residents.

A huge "Thank You!" goes out to Micropact of Herndon for their volunteer efforts in cleaning up our yard at the Homeless Youth Initiative! They did a tremendous job planting flowers, weeding, mowing and making the yard beautiful!

Alternative House would like to thank Mike Hambleton and O'Grady's Landscape of Falls Church for their help at our Emergency Shelter for Teens. Mike and his crew re-graded the yard to help with the water problem we have in the basement. On behalf of all of us at Alternative House, thank you for the great job you did.
